I began my life as a graphic designer in 2006 while working at a home decor manufacturer. They put me in front of a computer, gave me a 20-minute lesson on Adobe Illustrator, and told me to start designing outdoor house flags. I fell in love with vector drawing, and learned of a thing called a seamless design.
Little by little I began to unlock the secrets of how to make a perfect repeating pattern. Over the years I spent countless hours honing my skills until there was almost nothing I couldn’t make into a repeat.
When I became a freelancer, I was asked constantly by clients to create seamless designs from an artists’ motifs, and existing vintage designs.
It was during that real world experience that I discovered my talent for digitally restoring antique textiles. I started in with my collected images of historical fabrics, redrew one in Illustrator, and re-created a repeat.
And so my life as a antique textile pattern restorer was born.
